March – Kidney Cancer Awareness Month
March 6, 2020
The month of March marks the beginning of Kidney Cancer Awareness Month.
Kidney Cancer Awareness Month was first introduced to Congress by Rep. Thaddeus McCotter on January 31, 2007.
The objectives during this time are as follows:
- Urge organizations and health professionals to use this opportunity to promote kidney cancer awareness and encourage annual physicals
- Salute kidney cancer survivors in the United States and the efforts of patient survivors, volunteers and professionals who combat kidney cancer everyday
- Recognize national and community organizations for their work in promoting awareness of kidney cancer and offering treatment to sufferers
This month, on Veggies, Cake & Cocktails, I plan to post about some of my personal experiences with kidney cancer as well as information I have learned along the way and information that would have been helpful to me at the time of my diagnosis.
