Porkey’s Fat-Ass Sandwich? I’ll take it!

Work has been crazy busy this week. I barely have any time which means I’m in no mood to make dinner when I get home. Thursday was particularly stressful so I told the husband we were going out to dinner and having a stress free evening. He was more than okay with this idea;)
We stopped at Villains. Villains is located in the South Loop of Chicago on Clark Ave. This place may be known as a bar but the food isn’t all that shabby either:)
Last time we ate here I had “The Mother Load” burger which was fantastic.
While we sat in our booth we had a skull looking over us. I named him Henry:

In the corner of the restaurant they had a Victorian type couch set up:

While we looked over the menu I ordered a Captain Morgan and Diet Coke:

I decided to start off with the Villians Secret Stash which includes:
  • Romain lettuce
  • Garbanzos
  • Red onion
  • Cucumber
  • Avocado
  • Egg
  • Bacon
  • Tomato
  • Crumbled bleu cheese
  • Ranch dressing
I ordered mine with no avocado, tomato and bleu cheese. This was easily one of the best salads I’ve every had. It was really big and filling. Next time I will know to have this as my entire meal.

My main dish was, Porkey’s Fat-Ass Smoked BBQ Pork – 12 hour smoked and braised pork shoulder, wallowing in house made BBQ sauce. Served with house-made slaw. If you are like me you throw that slaw right on top of the pork, yum!
The description says it all and the flavor of this sandwich was scrumptious!

After dinner we came home and hung out for a bit on the balcony. On one side we have the lake which looked beautiful tonight:

Work was stressful but it’s always nice to spend a yummy dinner with a great companion. Probably would have been a better idea to go for a run than order the Porkey’s Fat Ass Smoked BBQ Pork but I had a good time with Porkey and my husband!
