Movie Night – Due Date
Saturday night was movie night in my household. The flick of the night was Due Date staring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis.
I didn’t have any expectations for this movie. Actually I did, I thought this was going to be one of those movies that showed all the funny parts in the previews. I was wrong. I actually laughed out loud more than a few times. Probably helps that I really like Robert Downey Jr 😉
I would recommend this movie if you are looking for something that doesn’t require any thinking at all. 😀
Breakfast & Lunch
These 2 meals kind of ran together Saturday morning and afternoon. Waking up late will do that to you.
Amy’s alphabet soup:
Baked beans with mustard:
I know some people will find this an odd combination but I think it compliments each-other rather nicely 🙂 I should let you know that I love mustard on pretty much everything!
Dinner
My brother-in-law came over to watch the movie with us and he also treated us to a pretty good dinner from Bella Bacinos.
I started off with a Bacino’s House Salad which includes mixed field greens, cucumbers, carrots and shaved fennel tossed with torn basil balsamic vinaigrette:
The salad was good and all the veggies were really fresh. Can’t ask for more than that when it comes to a salad.
Next course was the beautiful Filet Crostini which is sliced medium rare beef tenderloin on garlic-rubbed crostini, with balsamic reduction:
Delicious and almost too pretty to eat. Seriously, this was the nicest presentation of food I have ever seen from a delivery and I’ve had lots of delivery over the last couple years 😉
My main dish was the Cappellini which is angel hair pasta, grilled chicken, whole roasted garlic, pancetta and fresh green beans:
Last but not least – the restaurant gave us complimentary chocolate chip cookies. Perfect end to a great meal!
This entire meal was great, especially for delivery! Thanks to my BIL for treating us to a great dinner and sharing a new (to us) restaurant to Patrick and myself 🙂
Question:
Have you seen Due Date? What did you think of it?
