What is it Wednesday? – Black Garlic
What it looks like?
What is it?
Black Garlic is regular garlic that has gone through a fermentation process. During this process the cloves turn black and most of the regular garlic flavor and taste is eliminated.
Black Garlic has a sweet yet savory flavor with a jelly like texture.
I should also point out that Black Garlic does not give a person bad breath like that other garlic š
Health benefits?
Black Garlic supposedly has twice as many antioxidants as raw garlic.
How to use it?
Black Garlic can be used in many of the same ways as regular raw garlic.
You can use it in sauces, soups, meat, dips, pasta and noodle dishes.
VC&C thoughts:
Yet another item I have not had the pleasure of using. I’m a garlic lover so of course I’m intrigued by the Black Garlic. However I must say the jelly like texture does scare me a bit. One of these days I will be brave enough to order some and test it out in some recipes š
