Beat the Heat – Um, What?
I do believe this is Dunkin’ Donuts way of playing a joke on the people of Chicago:
“Beat the Heat. We’ve got the treat!” – It was somewhere around 6 degrees when I saw this sign. No heat around at all this Tuesday! Real funny.
At least this little big bird will be keeping warm during the Chicago winter:
I couldn’t believe how big this pigeon is. Looks like someone has been eating to many Dunkin’ Donuts donuts!
Breakfast
A very yummy Red Machine Naked juice smoothie.
Lunch
I have a feeling this Freshii soup is going to be my “go-to” soup of the winter.
It’s a spicy lemon grass broth with carrots, corn and celery. The heat of the spice really packed a punch 😀
I love this soup!!!
Even thought Dunkin’ Donuts was playing a joke on me I decided to stop in for a little “lunch dessert”. They are selling valentine donuts. Basically chocolate donuts shaped like a heart with heart sprinkles.
I thought it was good until I reached the jelly filling. I do not like jelly fillings in my food. I wish I would have known about the filling when I bought it 🙁 Oh well, it was still cute!
Dinner
Patrick went out with some friends for a couple hours after work. On the way home he decided to get us some pizza.
He surprised me with a delicious Greek salad.
My half of the pizza was Canadian bacon with pineapple. Yum!
I hope everyone had a fab Tuesday!

That little doughnut is adorable! I looove Dunkin as a little treat every now and then, so perhaps I’ll have to stop in for Vday :).

I have to agree. Having a Dunkin Donut every once in a while is just fine with me. I really like the blueberry cake donut and the donut with the strawberry frosting 🙂

That lemongrass soup has given me a great idea for a go to soup for me. It looks really delicious. The temperature here is about 64F/18C here in the desert in Saudi Arabia. Kinda unusual as we do usually have a winter but it’s been quite mild of late.

The soup is delicious! I would love to know if you do come up with a lemongrass soup.

It is about 5 degrees here in Vancouver today. We haven’t gotten any snow, but it is cool and sunny 🙂

So in the past 8 hours I’ve been in NYC, Chicago and Minneapolis – Minneapolis obviously the coldest (-11 this morning) but Chicago was a close 2nd.
I’m so glad you took a picture of that pigeon! WOW!
Tracey
You are a traveling machine!
You know what’s sad … that isn’t even the biggest pigeon I’ve seen.

Beat the heat? That is just mean! The Freshii soup looks awesome! Veggies, noodles, broth…I’m in! And I am MISSING greek salads. This whole no soft cheeses during pregnancy is driving me a little bit nutty 😉 Temperature in Charleston is warming up! Sorry I’ve been MIA- I will finally have a post up tomorrow morning 🙂

Well technically it’s summer here in Australia, but it’s currently raining. I guess I shouldn’t complain, seeing as the Queenslanders just went through floods and cyclones…. but I want my heat before it’s actually winter again!
P.S. I hate jelly fillings too 🙂
