Tea Time

Patrick and I recently purchased our first Tea Pot.  It’s a KitchenAid 2-Quart Gourmet Essentials brushed stainless steel kettle.

We decided tonight was the perfect night to give it a test run because I was freezing.

Patrick filled the pot with water, set it on the stove and we waited for it to start whistling.  We were both excited because neither of us have ever heard a tea pot whistle in real life!  Yes, we are big dorks but it works for us 😉

Obviously we are not the only ones in this house who have never heard a tea pot whistle.  Solera kind of freaked out.  He had no idea what was going on and why his dad (aka Patrick) wasn’t the least bit concerned:

The final product:  a nice hot cup of Candy Cane Lane green tea:

Breakfast

I liked the Red Machine Naked Juice so much that I decided to give a new flavor a try.  Enter, the Green Machine:

I love the slogan on the bottle, ” looks weird, tastes amazing”.  I do agree that the juice looks really weird but it does taste pretty good.  It doesn’t taste amazing ( I save that honor for cake) but I would drink it again!

The ingredients are simple and good for you:

The Fruit Inside

  1. 2 3/4 Apples
  2. 1/2 Banana
  3. 1/3 Kiwi Fruit
  4. 1/3 Mango
  5. A Hint of Pineapple

The Boost Inside

  • 1300 mg Spirulina
  • 400 mg Chlorella
  • 100 mg Broccoli
  • 100 mg Spinach
  • 50 mg Blue Green Algae
  • 50 mg Garlic
  • 75 mg Barley Grass
  • 75 mg Wheat Grass
  • 50 mg Ginger
  • 50 mg Parsley

Thursday morning I was craving something crunchy and salty.  My options were limited so I opted to go with what I really wanted, White Cheddar Cheez-It’s!  They were awesome and totally hit the spot.

Now, I could have gone with something healthier but than I wouldn’t have been satisfied because what I really wanted was Cheez-It’s.  Plus I already had a bunch of nutrients thanks to the Green Machine.

Lunch

So, for the fourth day in a row, my lunch was a Freshii soup.  The spicy lemongrass is such a great lunch on these extremely cold days.

I chowed down on my soup while reading Natural Health magazine and sipping a San Pellegrino:

A Limonata San Pellegrino to be exact.  This was the first flavored Pellegrino I’ve had and I thought it was fantastic!  The drink was very tart and refreshing all at the same time.

This would be a perfect summertime drink.  Might even be good with a bit of vodka 😀

Dinner

Take out Kung Pao Chicken because we were lazy.

And that was my Thursday.  Tried a lot of new items today that I’m sure will be seen again in days to come 🙂

Question:

Do you use a Tea Pot to make tea?

I used to heat up my water in the microwave but now I will be using my tea pot.  Makes me feel fancy 🙂
