Office Work at Home

Tuesday morning I woke up with a really sore leg. It was strange my calf was throbbing and the front felt like I had shin splints plus at times my foot would go numb πŸ™ Β Not good!!! Β It hurt when I put pressure on it so I decided to see if I could work from home.

A lot of people have problems getting things done when working from home. That is not the case for me. I actually get a lot more work done when at home. Mainly because I have less distractions throughout the day πŸ™‚

Here are a couple things that help me get work done at home:

  • Designate a space in your home as the work zone. During work hours all I can do in that space is work.
  • Keep same routine as if you were going into the office. Wake up, walk the dog, grab coffee and sign on computer. Basically everything you would normally do just with no commute.
  • Make sure email and instant message is up and working so you can easily communicate with co-workers.
  • Lastly make sure you stop working when your normal work day would end.

Try them out the next time you need to work from home, they just might help you out πŸ™‚

Lunch

Leftover pizza which didn’t look at all appetizing (thanks to my poor microwaving skills) so I decided to spare you the visual.

It was ugly but still very tasty πŸ™‚

Snack

A plate of Claussen and spicy McClure pickles with a side of ranch for dipping.

I don’t know where this combination originated for me but I love it!

Dinner

Started off with my drink of choice, a Pom-Fizz.

I wanted to try my hand at making a more healthy type of Chili. My husband would have preferred our traditional chili we make but he was a good sport and went along with what I had planned. I mean, its only one meal, right?!?

In the mix:

1 pound lean ground turkey
1 packet chili seasoning
Tomato juice
Celery
Corn
Cauliflower
Onion
Cayenne
Chili powder
Cheese

Cooking directions:

  1. Chop and clean veggies.
  2. Brown turkey in frying pan.
  3. Once turkey is done cooking add all ingredients in pot (except cheese).
  4. Let simmer on stove until cauliflower is tender.
  5. Serve it up in a bowl topped with cheese.

I thought it turned out really good. However when I asked my husband what he thought his exact words were, “it tastes healthy”. What’s a girl to do πŸ˜€

Dessert

Oh yeah, you better believe I saved room for dessert. Β To be more specific Edy’s Thin Mint Ice Cream with Sander’s Hot Fudge!

Can’t go wrong with this combo!

Question:

What tips do you have for working at home?

I work at home full time- and I concur with all of your tips! Setting starting and stopping times (if possible) are also really important. I find there are days when its easily to get distracted…but there are also days where its hard to stop working! Pickles and ranch? As a pregnant lady….this sound fantastic and I feel the need to try it πŸ˜‰
