Lazy Nails

I used to paint my nails all the time.

I remember, as a little girl, having over 50 nail colors. The colors ranged from yellow, blue, red, black, pink, clear – you name a color I had it!  I also had a notebook that I would catalog all my colors in. I would use my nail polish to paint a patch in the notebook and write the name next to it so I could just flip through the book to pick out my next color.

These days I’ve streamlined the process a bit. I keep my polish, remover and other nail type stuff neatly tucked into this little box:

My polish choices are red, dark red, dark purple, light pink and clear. Typically I go with my natural nails with a clear polish:

Or red:

But today I went with an oldie but goodie, Essie Ballet Slippers:

I’ve gotten a bit lazy with my nails but I’m going to try and give myself a weekly manicure during the month of March 🙂

Breakfast

Started the day off with a Starbucks caramel apple cider wrapped in my disco cup holder 🙂

Lunch

It was a chilly day so of course I went straight for my Freshii soup. This time I added a little something to the mix, Sriracha!

It added a nice element of heat to the broth. I really liked it and plan to add it to more of the food I eat.

Patrick bought me a Naked juice that I’ve been wanting to try for awhile, Protein Zone:

I was excited to try this flavor because of the protein and because I thought the flavor would be great.  Unfortunately, I thought it was pretty gross.  The flavor was okay but it had a grainy texture that I could not get over.

Guess I will stick with the Red Machine, Green Machine or Blue Machine when I’m craving a juice smoothie.  All 3 of those flavors were tasty 🙂

Let’s take a look at what’s inside the Protein Zone juice:

The Fruit Inside

  • 2 1/3 Apples
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/3 Orange
  • A Hint of Pineapple
  • A Hint of Coconut

The Boost Inside

  • 30 g Soy & Whey Protein
  • 171 mg Vitamin C
  • 920 mg Potassium

Lunch Dessert

The most delicious chocolate chip cookie:

and huge:

I don’t think I could ever get sick of eating these soft, chewy, chocolaty cookies!

Snack

The strange but yummy pickles with low fat ranch dip:

Dinner

I was pooped by the time dinner rolled around. All I wanted to do was lay on the couch and watch Ghost Hunters. I decided I also was in need of some comforting food.

Enter one of my childhood favorites, tomato juice and noodles:

Tomato Juice & Noodles

In the mix:

  • Small shaped pasta
  • Tomato juice
  • Pepper
  • Dried onion
  • Bacon pieces

Cooking directions:

  1. Cook pasta according to package. Drain when done.
  2. Return cooked pasta to pot and add all ingredients except bacon.
  3. Return pot to burner and let heat up.
  4. Serve in bowl with bacon pieces sprinkled on top.

Super easy and very comforting for me 🙂

And to drink … Pom Fizz!

Question:

Do you do your own nails or go to the salon to get them done?

I’ve gone to the salon but most of the time (when I actually do my nails) I do them myself.

I ALWAYS paint my own nails. Mainly because of time and well, I’m cheap. 🙂 And I probably have over 50 colors right now. Sometimes I get rid of some because having 2 overflowing baskets gets a little ridiculous. 🙂
Oh, thanks for your comment btw. I’d like to see Wicked again already but it seems silly paying for it right away when I got to see it for free.

I think I let a couple years go by during my first and second viewing of Wicked. I would go again in a heart beat if I could get free tickets 😉

I would say the main reason I don’t go to a spa to get my nails done is due to the cost. I’m cheap when it comes to that too 🙂

I haven’t been to a nail salon since I was — 13!!! I know, right?! I do my nails at home, and used to do them all the time, but now I am afraid I will chip nail polish into a tank of wine at work, so I just buff them.

When I do my nails or get them done- the polish never seems to stay on too long. I think its all the dish washing and house work! Your nails are gorgeous. That cookie does look yummy. And What a fun and easy dinner. Happy Sunday

    • Tracey

Oh – whenever I do a lot of dishes or house work my nails always chip and it drives me crazy! I’ve thought about getting some of those gloves for dish washing but I’m not sure if I would actually use them.
